The class is now working very hard on their blogs. We have implemented a system involiving the children keeoing track of each other. In the classroom we have a checklist of portfolio activities, that the children mark off when they have seen someone elses.
One of the main points for focus now is making sure categoories are set up correctly. These can be managed in the manage tab under categories. Next term we sill set up categories for the terms work.
We have now had a number of weeks “playing” with blog. Next term is time to shift it into a working “E-Portfolio” – step 1 encourage children to call it their portfolio not their Blog.
Haiku
The children should now be working on publishing their process involving haiku and uploading their samples. We worked on syllables and format. With some children we spoke about eliminating words that weren’t needed to generate more interesting Haiku. All children in the class successfully completed the task.
